This is the stage of loosely assembling the image in plain paper patterns before working them with colour for the final securing with glue. Gradually this Gawain, stigmatised with a foliate burgeoning, makes his way into the world. So, there’s much snipping and adjusting right now.

I re-acquainted myself with Sir Gawain yesterday by re-listening to the Hugh Lupton version on CD and I think I shall now search out Simon A’s copy to read. Great to see that snipping and adjusting bring Sir Gawain to life.
Lesley, I’m reading the Armitage right now. It’s zesty stuff, carrying me headlong through the tale. I know you’re going to enjoy it.
