a shout for qarrtsiluni

Dave and Beth over at Qarrtsiluni have posted a last podcast in their Words of Power issue. Using my painting of Elijah and the Raven as a starting point they have a conversation that meanders delightfully from Dave’s natural history of crows (taking in the raven’s capacity to collaborate with large predators) through Beth’s contextualization of the Elijah tale as it appears in the bible and her brief canter along the byways of how the prophet fed by birds has been approached historically by artists, finally finishing off with Dave’s extraordinary tale of a raven who scared a hunter.  And there are some fascinating forays into mythology en route.
